  • What is Mixing?

Mixing, also known as audio mixing or music mixing, is the process of combining multiple audio tracks (such as vocals, instruments, and effects) into a cohesive and balanced final product. This involves adjusting various parameters like volume levels, panning, equalization, compression, and effects to ensure that each element of the song complements one another and contributes to the overall sound.
As your audio engineer, my goal is to enhance the clarity, depth, and impact of your record, creating a professional-quality recording that sounds polished and cohesive. When you receive your mixed song, it will have balanced levels, clear vocals, and a sense of space and dimensionality, making it sound pleasing to a listener's ear across different playback systems.
  • What is Mastering?

Mastering is the final step where I polish and improve the mixed song for release. I'll adjust the overall sound quality, volume, and consistency, making sure it sounds great on all devices. This also prepares the song for distribution in various formats.
Think of the process as polishing a diamond:
Your raw, unmixed song is like a raw diamond; freshly mined, not pretty yet.
Mixing is cutting and shaping that diamond. Now it sounds like a song.
Mastering is putting the final polish on it to give it that shine. Mastering gives your record that extra "umph" and presence. Now you're ready for release!
